How we verify every answer

No rumors and no hearsay. Every answer on Korea Answered follows the same three steps.

Our three steps

  1. We read the source. The statute, the ministry notice or the agency's own guidance, not a blog that copied it. Where an official English translation exists we read it too, and we say so when the English page shows an older amendment date than the current rules.
  2. We link the exact page. Each answer names the law or notice and links it, so you can show it at the counter.
  3. We stamp the date. Each answer shows the day we last checked it and the day it is due for a re-check. If we cannot confirm a number, we leave it out and say so.

What the verdict labels mean

YesYesThe rule allows it in the situation described.
NoNoThe rule does not allow it in the situation described.
DependsDependsIt depends on your status, nationality or case. The answer lays out the main situations.
Local onlyLocal onlyIt is allowed, but only at a certain level or place, for example in local elections.
RequiredRequiredIt is mandatory, not optional.
GuideGuideA how-to answer rather than a yes-or-no rule, such as how to use a transit card.
CheckingCheckingWe have not finished confirming this answer. Treat it as unverified.

The check-date stamp

The red stamp on an answer is the day we last read the source. A newer stamp means we re-read the source that day. It does not mean the rule changed. Each answer also shows a re-check due date.

When we cannot confirm something

We leave the figure out and say so. Examples are a fee that official pages do not state, or a sign-up rule for an app we have not tested. Other websites often give a number. When they disagree with each other and the official source is silent, we do not pick one.

Checks before we publish

  • Every answer cites at least one official source with a link.
  • A script flags money amounts that appear without a date.
  • A script checks that the questions and answers in the FAQ match the data search engines read.
  • We test that outside links open before we publish.
  • We write only what the sources say. We do not describe personal experiences we did not have.

AI tools and corrections

We use AI tools to help find and draft; see About. If an answer is wrong or out of date, tell us. When we confirm the correction, we update the text and the check date.
